ep 2 - sorry! fixed the tags
so what'd you all think about today's episode?

goil will definitely be among the top 3... i love his creativity and how contemporary most of his designs are. his designs are really clean and crisp, and different from everyone else's, which is refreshing to see. i loved that room, and i love that pepper as much as he appears to love it too (and the random patch of... grass).

the winning room was very cool, he definitely deserved to win. it was a little over the top, but appropriate for a kid.

michael's room was definitely sad... it did look like someone had died there, and the room belonged to grandma. terrible.

the red room was cool, but i thought it looked sort of like a hotel room... kind of uptight. i wouldnt feel comfortable living there.

felicia's room was nice, but definitely a little too grown up.

the soccer room was nice, but i think it's the kind of room that gets old fast (at least to me).

matt's room (the glamour one) was really nice, and although not childish looking, it definitely fit what the girl wanted.

john gray's room was terrible, and it was his time to go. i wish i coulve seen more of him, but his room was definitely the weakest and he seems to crack under pressure.

i know im missing a few but i cant remember them all...

(sorry i didnt use all their names, i dont know all of them yet)

also, what do you all think of todd oldham? he seems really sweet but a little goofy-sounding to be a sort of "mentor", i think.

i thought the producers of the show were going to have some sort of phrase like "pack up your knives and go" and that kind of thing, and i was surprised at how theyre like.... "XXX... goodbye!" strange.

No way that guy should have gone home. His was bad, but OMG that CAT ROOM!!!!! That was shear crap in it purest form. I mean even I could have built a high shelf and cat tree.

I don't care too much for Goil's designs.... they are too much of "less is a bore"

The winning room was too "themey" for me. Even for a kids room, you should only go so far.

Michael is just there to keep us watching.....and to laugh at...

The Red Room, I assume you are talking about the "jungle" room. It was a very nice room, I thought. A little on the mature side (that chair did not belong in that room if it was going to be for a kid)

I agree with Falica's room

Ugh, that soccer room should have been out of there. It was HORRIBLE!!! I mean... buckets??? That is SOO not practical! The floor was unorganized. Themes pretty much crossed and didn't know when to start or end.

Matt's room was very nice. I just wish he used lights that weren't so bright. It would have also been nice to see some of the black carry over to the other side of the room to make it balance out and get rid of that black cloth behind the bed.

John's room I thought looked the best - at least where he wanted it to go. Yes, it looked very unfinished, completely unacceptable for a designer, but I mean come on, for some who did finish their room... it was horrible.

As far as the producers line.... One thing I really noticed this episode was what one of the judges said to John as he left. He called him a "decorater". I am currently majoring in interior design myself and know that the be called something like that rather than a "designer" is a HUGE insult.

actually, i thought the buckets were really practical....just out of place. maybe she should have filled them with something to show their use....socks, toys, pens and pencils.

Maybe...but I still didn't care for them. They didn't go with the theme.
